PARKING
For St. Peter’s hospital, Chertsey, you need a yellow card. Cards will expire at the end of 2025. Ask a committee member or duty officer for a new one. There are different car parks for different departments. Study the notes.
Epsom and St. Helier hospitals (ESTH) have a record of your cars’ makes and registration numbers. Please advise Barry North of any changes. You will still be able to drop a client off without parking. If you need to park before collecting a client, park in the main (visitors) car park and take a ticket. For free parking have the ticket validated at the security office not more than ten minutes before leaving. The security office at Epsom hospital is near A & E. At St. Helier it is to the right of the main entrance.
The ESTH windscreen discs have no further use. Please do not park in a staff car park at Epsom or St. Helier hospitals.
At the Royal Surrey hospital, Guildford and at the East Surrey hospital, Redhill, you should park in one of the hospital car parks, pay, and recover the charge from the client in addition to any donation. Note that at Guildford you can remain at the entrance for 20 minutes if there is a space available. Also, there are other entrances and car parks, especially for holders of disabled badges. See the detailed notes.
Kingston hospital employs number plate recognition for you to park in a staff car park. Before going, ensure your car registration number has been given to Barry North. However, Kingston seems to be discouraging free parking and you may have to pay. For able-bodied clients train travel is the best option as Norbiton station is so close to the hospital.
Royal Marsden also employs number plate recognition but does not need to know your number in advance of a visit.
